9-8-2013 WiR

We’re a little late with the WiR today since we spent the better part of this morning watching the IM 70.3 World Championships. We hope that some of our readers were able to take advantage of the live feed link we shared via Facebook and Twitter.

We’re very proud to announce that we reached 200,000 views this week—thanks to all of our readers for helping us to reach this milestone!

Finally, two members of the AG staff will be attending Interbike in less than two weeks. We’re planning to share plenty of pictures and updates from the show floor. What would you like to see or hear about?

For all of our new followers—welcome! One of our favorite ways to showcase our readers is our Readers’ Rides album on Facebook. You can check it out at http://on.fb.me/12jEqE3. If you would like to have your bike featured in our album just tweet us at @AeroGeeksFacebook message us, or email us at info@AeroGeeks.com.

A Little Something Extra

If you’re like any of our AG team members, you likely hear frequent complaints from your significant other about your athletic footwear. Then again, who really likes damp, smelly shoes hanging out in your closet or hallway? We were recently introduced to a product that promises to fix that—Stuffits For Shoes. These neat foot shaped inserts fit right into your running shoes or cycling cleats and fight odor and wetness with reusable cedar inserts. Stuffits are made with Micro-poly wicking fabric infused with Microban antimicrobial protection to help prevent odor causing bacteria on the fabric insert. And when it’s time to run these through the wash, the cedar inserts are removable so you can easily clean the outer fabric cover. And at just about $24, we think that’s a small price to pay to avoid offending your family and friends with smelly shoes.

Current Reviews

  1. Reynolds 72/90 – We paired the front 72 with our rear 72 Power Tap this week. We’re huge fans of this wheel set—with or without the PT. Reynolds 72/90 – First Ride
  2. GoPro Hero3  – While testing the MyTriRack this week we brought the GoPro with us. It wasn’t pretty, but yet again, video doesn’t lie. GoPro Hero3-First Ride
  3. ICEdot Crash Sensor – After riding with this product for weeks now we’re starting to wonder how can ICEdot can make a similar product for the run. The family loves knowing that we are riding safe. ICEdot Crash Sensor – First Ride
  4. Wheelbuilder.com PowerTap-Equiped Reynolds Aero 72  – We are extremely happy with the build construction from WheelBuilder. It’s hard to believe this wasn’t from the factory! The only minor gripe we’ve had so far was that the stickers were a bit off center.
  5. Dash Cycles TT9 – Based on a reader’s comment we are getting an Elite Pria Pavé to help us with some of the launching issues we’re experienced. Stay tuned for more on this. Dash Cycles TT9 – First ride
  6. Vision Metron Base Bar and Carbon Brakes – First ride was published this week. Check it out! Vision Metron Base Bar – First Ride
  7. Bontrager Aeolus 3 D3 Clinchers – First ride was published this week. Check it out! Bontrager Aeolus 3 D3 Clinchers – First Ride
  8. Profile Design TwentyFour Series – Keep a look out for our First ride article coming this week.
  9. MyTriRack – So far we think this is one of the easiest ways to save 90 seconds in a race—and for just $49.99. We had this out of the box and set up in less than five minutes. We’ll be posting a full review soon.

As always, thanks for reading AeroGeeks and helping build the AG community. Remember that our favorite reviews are the ones that you suggest. Let us know what you would like to see on our pages!
