To celebebrate Kona, Look has introduced a very limited edition 796 Monoblade RS time trial bike frames, with the first to be ridden by French cycling legend-turned-IRONMAN competitor Laurent Jalabert this weekend at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
The ‘Eruption’ design has been created to celebrate Laurent’s typical ultra-competitive and heroic approach to racing throughout his career, while also paying tribute to the pinnacle of triathlon racing on the volcanic island of Hawaii. It’s the very first of LOOK’s ‘Odyssey’ range of framesets, exclusively created to enhance the profile of their world ambassadors, and expertise in engineering with carbon for legendary riders.
This frameset features a bronze-burn effect, reflecting the theme of a volcanic eruption, along with a tone-on-tone LOOK graphic pattern on the frame to symbolize dark ash clouds. This Eruption limited edition includes a numbered, unique design frame kit, LOOK’s all-carbon Aergo time trial handlebar, ZED 3 crankset and Aeropost seatpost.
Edition 1/50 will be raced by Laurent in Kona, with the remaining 49 frames made available to buy through LOOK retailers, and will cost €6,499 / US$8,000 / £6,600. The frame will be available to view on the LOOK website from Friday 11 October.
We just think it looks awesome and had to share it. Stay tuned for more news from the big island.
