3-4-2018 WiR

It’s been a busy few weeks at AG HQ with our editors having to do a bit of travel. The good news is that didn’t stop us from looking at the latest from Specialized and Silca. Unfortunately, we also have our first injury of the season with our Chief Editor tweaking his knee this weekend – bounce house injuries are a real thing. You have officially been warned.

In this week’s WiR we have updates from Silca, GU, and FLO. Make sure to catch up on all the latest below!

As always, thanks for reading AeroGeeks. If there is anything you want to see us check out, be sure to tweet us at @AeroGeeksFacebook message us, get us on Instagram, or email us at info@AeroGeeks.com. Or just let us know in the comments below!

GU Birthday Cake Energy Gel

And speaking of cake, to commemorate their 25th anniversary, GU announced a new Birthday Cake Energy Gel this week.

“In the late ‘80s, we recognized that endurance athletes weren’t feeding their bodies with the nutrients they needed most, and their performance was suffering as a result. That was the spark that led my father to research the role nutrition plays in exercise physiology.  The original GU Gel is a significant outcome of that research.” said Brian Vaughan, co-founder and CEO of GU Energy Labs. “I look back on all that we’ve done as a company, all the incredible performances we’ve helped fuel, and I’m thrilled for what the future holds.”

Birthday Cake Energy Gel, box of 24 will have an MSRP of $36, a box of 8 will set you back $12, and a single will go for $1.50. Stay tuned to a future WiR for our thoughts on taste.

Silca Hiro Carbon Steel

The Silca Hiro V.2 is one of our most prized possessions in the AeroGeeks garage. Its also been featured in every AeroGeeks Holiday Gift Guide since its introduction. But at $110, it can be a little pricy for many. Fortunately, Silca is constantly innovating – not just in new products, but their existing portfolio as well. Using what it has learned manufacturing the T-Ratchet + Ti Torque, Silca was able to build a Hiro utilizing Carbon Steel at a much more reasonable $65. We are looking forward to checking out the latest from Silca in the near future, and the good news is that a Hilo Carbon Steel is already on its way here. Stay tuned for the latest.
