Stocking stuffers are meant to put a smile on your favorite athlete’s face but still easy on the budget. This year we have some of our favorite nutrition, maintenance items, and cycling gear that we definitely wouldn’t mind finding under our tree or in this year’s AeroGeek’s White Elephant!
Tailwind Nutrition – $2.50
Tailwind has been alongside us two seasons now including 2017 IMFL. And was our go-to source of nutrition all through long course training this year. We never had a single stomach issue while using it, and always got the calories we needed reliably. Raspberry Buzz was our favorite flavor all year, and even after a few thousand miles on it, we still enjoy the flavor!
Bonk Breaker Nutrition Bars – $2.50
When looking for a mid day snack one of our goto options is a Bonk Breaker nutrition bar – especially Peanut Butter and Jelly. Non-GMO, real ingredients that are Gluten Free & Dairy Free, perfect for all those athletes that have specific dietary needs or just treat their bodies like the temples they are. And not only do they break the bonk – but they do almost as good a job dealing with a hangry athlete as a Snickers bar!
Science in Sport Beta Fuel – $3.19
As the old saying goes – if it’s good enough for Chris Froome it’s good enough for your stocking (yes it really is an old saying – just look it up!) Science in Sport Beta Fuel has been developed to deliver the maximum amount of carbohydrate in a 2:1 ratio, so to limit gastrointestinal distress. The product mixed to concentration is 80 grams carbohydrate (2:1 maltodextrin:fructose), 20 mmol/L sodium and 500 ml of fluid per serving. We have been using it on our longer training rides this fall and so far our stomach has been happy and our times have been falling.
Finish Line Gear Floss – $6.99
Take a look at your cassette. Really, go ahead – we’ll wait. See all that dirt and grime in there? Every time a chain link catches it, you are losing a percentage of a watt. It’s not much, but over time, that’ll end up costing you real time on the road. Finish Line Gear Floss helps clean out your cassette without making you remove it from the hub. It helps keep those watts where they belong – heading straight for the road.
Nuun Electrolytes – $7.00
It wouldn’t be an AeroGeeks holiday gift guide without some Nuun. When we are looking for hydration that tastes great and contains electrolytes, but skips the calories, we quickly grab for a Nuun tube. Just 10 calories and 1g of sugar. Everything you need and for those quicker workouts nothing you don’t.
Silca Latex Inner Tubes – $15.00
The definition of free speed. Latex inner tubes are generally 2-5 Watts (per tire) more efficient at 30mph than tubes made of other materials, are harder to pinch-flat, and offer superior suppleness and road feel, especially when combined with supple, low rolling resistance tires. Silca’s latest edition feature an Aluminum alloy valve instead of the traditional Brass alloy. This saves an additional 10 grams per tube!
Muc-Off Hydrodynamic Lube – $24.99
We were introduced to Muc-Off’s Hydrodynamic Lube at the beginning of the season and by season’s end this is all you would find on our bikes. Like Beta Fuel – this is the product good enough for Team Sky. What we really love about this lube is that it shows up under a UV light so you will know you have a perfect coating on your chain come race morning.
