Sorry for the short WiR this week. Between being so excited for the start of the Tour and the impending Independence Day holiday, we have been having a bit too much fun. And while we got our training in, we may have forgot some writing. Be assured next week we will be back in action.
The good news is that, in all of our Tour watching, we did catch some new gear. Check out what we know (and what we are still trying to learn) below!
As always, thanks for reading AeroGeeks. And if you want to see us check out something that we haven’t yet make sure to let us know in the comments below.

Readers’ Rides
If this is your first time following AeroGeeks, one of our favorite things to do is share our readers’ bikes with the world. You can check out our entire collection at http://on.fb.me/12jEqE3. We didn’t have any submissions this week, but we have a basket of great AG gear and giveaways, so there’s a good chance one of the next few (continental U.S. based) submissions might end up getting some awesome stuff!
If you would like to have your bike featured in our album, just tweet us at @AeroGeeks, Facebook message us, get us on Instagram, or email us at info@AeroGeeks.com. Don’t forget to also follow #agreadersrides on Instagram as well!
Tour Tech
We couldn’t help but notice some new tech at the Tour this weekend. First was a new wheel under Tony Martin on Monday. We think we are looking at a new Zipp 858 based off the 454 we reviewed just a few weeks ago. If you check out some images at http://www.triathlete.com/2017/07/gear-tech/new-zipp-wheel-spotted-tour-de-france-prologue_303169 you can definitely see the defining features of the 454 but in a deeper wheel.
Another new wheel spotted appears to be a disc from Roval. BikeRadar has a couple of good shots at http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/article/tour-de-france-time-trial-bikes-gallery-50289/. Check out images 12 and 13.
Finally, Giro has what looks to be a replacement for the original aero road helmet – the Air Attack. BikeRadar has a host of good shots at http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/article/tour-de-france-helmets-giro-vanquish-lazer-bullet-kask-valegro-50290/. Be sure to check it out if you are thinking about an upgrade.
We have reached out to Zipp, Roval, and Giro for comment and will be sure to let you know once we have the details.
