2016 Holiday Gift Guide – Stocking Stuffers

All of our favorite stocking stuffers are the ones that keep us going mid-workout. Whether it’s on the run, the bike, or just as a mid-day pick-me-up—these are the snacks that we always reach for (and certainly wouldn’t mind receiving in bulk!).

Clif Bar Holiday Editions – about $1.00

Clif Bars are a mainstay of nutrition here at AeroGeeks HQ. This holiday season Clif is offering Spiced Pumpkin Pie, Iced Gingerbread, and Hot Chocolate. While we initially thought Hot Chocolate would be our favorite; the Spiced Pumpkin Pie won us over. The holidays aren’t complete without some pumpkin pie, and late into a 4-hour Zwift session, that spiced flavor really hit the spot.

GU Stroopwafle – $1.25

GU Stroopwafles have quickly become a favorite pre- and mid-ride snack. While they are a little big for the run pouch, they are perfect for a jersey pocket. Wild Berry and Caramel are our favorites, and we find that a Stroopwafle warmed up in our pockets after a long ride is bested only when they are dipped in a post-ride espresso.

Picky Bars – $2.00

Another great snack for pre- and post-ride. Picky Bars are real food by real people. They’re especially easy to digest and are made out of ingredients we can easily recognize. We love the Cookie Doughness and  Blueberry Boomdizzle.

Pickle Juice Shots – $1.20

Pickle Juice had us stumped for quite a while. Did we really want to drink pickle juice while killing ourselves in a workout? Turns out the answer is yes. That salty shock to the system is perfect when the body is hurting most, and while we didn’t think we would enjoy the flavor even that tastes pretty great after a metric century. Plus, for who might need a little coal in their stocking, this does make a pretty great gag gift.

Nuun Active – $7.00

Looking for hydration that tastes great and contains electrolytes, but skips the calories? You will hardly ever find one of our editors mid-workout without a bottle of Nuun on them. And while they may have discontinued our favorite Kona Cola, Watermelon is a pretty awesome replacement.

Butt’r GoStik – $3.00

While we were on a roll here with great nutrition options, this is one stocking stuffer you may want to avoid eating. Butt’r is one of our go-to chamois creams, and now they’ve created their first-ever solid stick lubricant to apply to any area you may experience iritation while on the bike, run or in the pool. The new GoStik is perfect for your transition bag or in a jersey pocket.
