Miami is home to many companies both big and small and it should come as no surprise that the athlete’s village at Ironman Miami 70.3 had plenty of local flavor. One of these companies set up shop directly in the heart of the village and was showcasing one of the most talked about bikes currently found in transition – the Ventum One. We first looked at Ventum in May when we spoke to Jimmy Seear and Diaa Nour – the co-founders of Ventum but this was our first chance to get up close with the finished product.
We still have plenty of questions that can only be answered when we get some ride time – but just a few minutes of talking through the bike and getting some hands on time gave us the impression that this is a bike we really want to get to know. Luckily Ventum has promised that we will get our chance very soon. Until then check out our gallery below (sorry for the water on the bike – the heavens opened as we were shooting pictures) and let us know what more you want to see when we get a Ventum One in house.
- The integrated hydration reservoir.
- The reservoir attaches to the frame via a single bolt up front.
- Refill port on the hydration reservoir.
- There is a simple opening on the bottle – nothing to push a bottle through.
- The reservoir closes with a thick stopper.
- Stem on the Ventum One.
- Front brake cover for the stem and fork.
- These bolts surprised us (one on each side). We expected something a little more flush.
- The fork of the Ventum One.
- Seat clamp and seat post.
- Seat clamp.
- Driveside chainstay.
- Shouldn’t there be a downtube here?
- The brakes are exposed under the bottom bracket.
- The frame with the reservoir removed.
- The reservoir comes in many colors including this blue.
- This little notch on the reservoir helps hold it in place.
- Pink is another reservoir option.
- As is green. (Ok so it really is Orange. Turns out we shouldn’t have our color blind editor write comments about color).
