This week we kept the Kona train rolling starting off with our look at the steeds of this year’s Ironman World Champions. We also took a look at the new Sugoi RS Tri Speedsuit and Culprit’s Legend prototype they showed off on the island. And lest we forget our Interbike coverage, this week we finished the week with a look at Vision’s booth at the Mandalay Bay.

Readers’ Rides

For those who are new to AeroGeeks.com, one of our favorite ways to showcase our readers is our Readers’ Rides album on Facebook. This week we added a pair of bikes from Louis. First up was his Argon18 E-116 featuring Shimano Ultegra 6800, Rotor 3D cranks, TriRig stem and Speedplay pedals.

After we featured Louis’s ride he made sure to let us know his wife Honey had an AeroGeeks worthy bike as well. Honey’s P3 features Ultegra Di2, Zipp 404s, a complete TriRig cockpit and a Cobb Max saddle.

K-Edge Garmin Action Camera Combo Mount

We needed to mount our 920xt and Rideye to our Transonic test bike, and the K-Edge mount was exactly what we were looking for. As many know, the 920xt uses a ¼ turn mount that is 90 degrees different than the standard Edge mounts. Luckily the K-Edge mount lets you rotate the mount the necessary 90 degrees. Unfortunately, this also rotated the camera mount. Luckily we happened to have a GoPro 90-degree adapter lying around, so problem solved.

KMC X10SL 10 Speed Chain

During race prep for our Shiv test bike we noticed it was time for a new chain. The good news is that we have a number of KMC chains in for review, so the X10SL was called to duty. We only have one ride in so far, but our testers are already reporting how shockingly quiet the new chain is.

Bontrager Ballista Bib and Jersey

The Ballista Bib and Jersey truly fit like a second skin. We sized up for both and still felt a tad self conscious in them. But when your goal is absolute speed, a few looks in the mirror cannot be stop you. We got a quick ride in and found the chamois to be supportive without being too plush, and the kit also breathed extremely well.
