10-4-2015 WiR

So we have something to admit—in last week’s WiR, we lied to you. We said that we would wrap up our coverage of Interbike this week. But as it turns out, we had much more gear to share than days in the week. So our Interbike coverage will continue into this week. And better yet, as soon as we finish our IB coverage, we will be jumping straight to the latest gear being launched at Kona for the Ironman World Championships (and rumor is that you are definitely going to want to stay tuned for what we’ll be sharing!)

This past week we shared more galleries from Interbike, including Profile Design, Silca, and Louis Garneau. We also took a deep dive into the Cycliq Fly12, Prologo TGALE, and Recon’s Jet. And finally, we took a moment from IB coverage to share our review of the TYR Hydrofoil Ankle Float. Needless to say, it was a busy week!

The AeroGeeks team is looking forward to getting an HX-One in to review.

Stay tuned for more IB coverage this week, including our IB wrap-up and the start of our Kona coverage.

Readers Rides

This week we got the chance to check out Mark’s Speed Concept. Featuring SRAM Force, an ISM saddle, and Flo wheels, Mark’s ride showcases many of our favorite products. Mark originally intended to use the SC in time trials, but instead took the plunge and started competing in triathlons. He is still tweaking his position from TTs to a more Tri-specific setup.

Heather Jackson’s Kona-Bound Cannondale Slice

Heather Jackson recently re-signed with Cannondale, and to wish her good luck at Kona, they presented her with this custom Cannondale Slice.

The color is a nod to her Cannondale family and the design inspiration comes from Polynesian tattooing which symbolizes courage, power, achievement, protection, and blessings from the Gods.

Love The Pain

Sometimes we come across a product or company that we just can’t wait to share with our readers. And this company in particular does a superb job symbolizing who we are as triathletes and why we do what we do. We first came across Love the Pain when they followed us on Instagram, and since then, we haven’t been able to stop ogling their gear!

We reached out to the team at LTP to find out what is behind their gear: “Love The Pain is not just a brand, it’s a lifestyle. It’s for those who like to give it their all in exchange for a few seconds of extreme satisfaction. A feeling that cannot be explained in words. A feeling one must experience for oneself in order to fully grasp the power that comes with it. The concept is as simple as don’t quit. Embrace the down as much as the up.”

Mike’s personal favorite is the Evolution of Pain graphic, summarizing what any great day on course feels like. And LTP offers us one more way to showcase what we do without having to wear a race tech tee.

Check out our gallery below for some of our other favorites, and make sure to head over to Love the Pain to see their full lineup. And don’t forget to keep checking back as LTP plans expand their lineup into race gear over the next 12 months!
