2-8-2015 WiR – Meet Calamity Crow

We would like to introduce you to Calamity Crow – the unofficial mascot of the Aerogeeks.

Those of you with toddlers may recognize this bird, but for those who don’t, Calamity is the most unlucky bird in Heroes of the City. He simply cannot go a day without sustaining some type of injury. Well, this pretty much summed up 2014 for our team. We suffered two stress fractures, a broken elbow, broken wrist, and enough black and blue marks to last a lifetime!

The good news is that 2015 is off to a great start. We got through the first month with no major injuries, and we are back on track with reviewing great products. Because of that, we wanted to share a list of the products we have going through the AG review process.

The Mailroom

We got our first look at the Giro Synthe in June and then saw it again at Interbike in September. And we’re happy to report that we finally got our hands on one this week. Considering Giro reports that this helmet is faster than the Air Attack, we cannot wait to get it on the road!

Current Reviews

  1. Kask Infinity – Got a few more great rides with the Infinity this week. It has been nothing but cool and comfortable over half-century distances.
  2. Zipp Super-9 – Our time with the Super-9 is almost up. Look for a review this week!
  3. Fix It Sticks – We have had both the Original and T-Way in the garage for a few months now, and it is surprising how often we grab them versus our standard wrench sets. Easy to grip and light weight, they get the job done every time.
  4. Scott Carbon Tri Shoes – We raced the entire 2014 season on these shoes and are huge fans. Extremely comfortable for long rides and easy to get in and out of in transition. Stay tuned for our review.
  5. Wahoo KICKR – While we only had the KICKR for a few short weeks. It’s already time to send it back. Trust us when we say it won’t be forgotten anytime soon!

  1. Do you guys have a time scale in mind for the reviews to be published? I’m really interested in all the bike and most of the helmet reviews! The Scott Tri Shoes sound interesting too!

    • Unfortunately while we have a time scale in mind its usually pretty general in nature (it really depends on what comes in and our own training schedules). Bikes take the longest and the smaller accessories are much quicker. We plan on having at least one bike review in the next two weeks as well as one of the helmets. The Scott Tri Shoes are also very high on our list of next published items.
