2018 Holiday Gift Guide – Training Aids

You cannot always quote Kanye but when it comes to training aids he gets it -Harder, better, faster, stronger. It’s all about the engine here. Toys are definitely fun (and shiny), but the engine is really what gets you across the line.

Zwift Gift Certificates – $45/$180

Zwift continues to be our go to indoor training tool. Being able to actually compete against real athletes is an awesome way to spend time on an indoor trainer. You can often find AG team members out on those virtual roads – just look for the (AGs) tag! You can head here for either a 3 month or 1 year gift card.

The Swim It

Know someone that dreads the swim – or maybe you just dread them swimming it. The Swim It is the ideal holiday gift. The Swim IT is a Personal Flotation Device (pfd) that you can strap to your leg and call upon when needed. Simple grab onto the emergency handle, pull it, and you have a pfd floating right next to you. Holidays are about loved ones – and nothing says I love you more than a product meant to save your life.

Wahoo KICKR HEADWIND – $249

$249 for a fan isn’t cheap. But in the past 30 days our review HEADWIND has taken the place of 3 fans combined (including our AeroGeeks HQ Big Ass Hiaku that we simply adore – but the HEADWIND has it beat). It can be operated manually or connected to your HR or speed sensors and can hit 30mph. Looking to cool down the pain cave? Check out the HEADWIND.

Wahoo KICKR CLIMB – $599

Like our HEADWIND, we have had our KICKR CLIMB now for 30 days – and we don’t plan on giving it up even when the review is complete. It make’s that big a different to those long rides on the trainer. The ability to feel the bike climb up to 20% and drop to -10% sounds totally changes the long slog fests we find ourselves on when the weather gets nasty. It’s not cheap but for those that spend hundreds of hours every season locked in your pain cave – it will be well worth it.

Normatec Pulse – $1295

The AeroGeeks made the Normatec Pulse plunge last year at IMFL. We bought it with the expo discount (no review unit for us) – and haven’t stopped using it since. It has completely reshaped how we handle post workout recovery.  Instead of using static compression (squeezing) to transport fluid out of the limbs, Normatec’s Sequential Pulse Technology uses dynamic compression (pulsing). This mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms, greatly enhancing the movement of fluid and metabolites out of the limbs after an intense workout.
