Le Tour is here, and we couldn’t be happier. Two stages down and if the drama keeps up, we aren’t sure we’ll make it another 19 days. First off, a big congratulations goes to Cavendish for wearing the Yellow jersey today.Sure, 26 stage wins was great, but we’re pretty sure the 27th putting him in Yellow was one of the sweetest. And another big nod to Peter Sagan for winning today and earning Yellow. Though we have to admit, considering we have a Trek Speed Concept as a full-time test bike, we were pulling for Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) to take the breakaway from start to finish.

New Zipp Accessories

This week Zipp released a few new accessories that we wanted to share. First up is the Quickview Road Low Computer Mount. The mount is a sub 20-gram computer mount with a ¼ turn twist lock interface and 31.8mm bar surface. A low road position places the computer in front of the bar and nearly flush with the top of the bar, making for an easy-to-read display whether you are on the hoods or in the drops. The mount will be available this month with an MSRP of $20.

Zipp also released a new wheel sleeve for protecting your wheels and tires in transit. For anyone who has ever thrown wheels in their trunk to head to a race or just their local bike shop, having something to protect the carbon is a must. The sleeves are made of durable and elastic lyrca-nylon blend material for long-term reliability. They should fit 700c tires from 23c to 30c. And like the mount, they should be available this month and will retail for $13.

We received the RS Tri Speedsuit from Sugoi. We took a first look at the RS Tri Speedsuit in October when it was debuted at Kona. And considering that the Sugoi RS Ice Tri Suit is one of our favorite kits, we are really looking forward to the RS Speed Suit.

And finally Garmin sent us their Varia Vision and Varia Smart Lights. We love the concept of a heads-up display for the road and cannot wait to get the Varia Vision on the road!

  1. Why are people still releasing computer mounts that cannot be rotated, so they will accept both Forerunner with QR kit as well as Edge devices?
