Vacation and working out don’t always go hand in hand. But luckily Disney had us covered this week as we were in Orlando celebrating the littlest AeroGeek’s third birthday. Plenty of bright light and open clear paths allowed us to pound the pavement as we got our runs in while our fellow Disney tourists were still snug in bed. If you are heading there any time soon, be sure to check out https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/jogging/ for all the options available.

SRAM Red eTap Integrates with Garmin 520 and 1000

Last week it was Campagnolo integrating with Garmin, this week it’s SRAM. Riders with SRAM RED eTap can now view their gear profile and battery status on their Garmin Edge 520 and 1000. Both Garmin devices now integrate with ANT+ and provide a data field for both gear ratio (front gear/rear gear) and front and rear derailleur electronic battery status.

“This was something we promised with eTap, and we’re excited it’s now available as consumers continually demand greater access to their data,” said SRAM Product Manager Brad Menna.

All of the updates for the Edge 520 and 1000 can be accessed via Garmin Express, which should prompt you to install the update the next time you plug your Garmin into your computer. No updates are required to SRAM RED eTap.

Current Reviews

Since we spent the week at Disney we didn’t get a chance to spend much time on our bikes testing the latest and greatest gear. So if you are looking for the details on our latest reviews, stay tuned for next week. Now if you want to hear about some of the best cheat meals at Disney, we highly recommend the Johnny Apple Seed at Pop Century and the Cookies n’ Cream Funnel Cake in Epcot’s American Adventure Pavilion!
