The AeroGeeks are on Instagram! This week we took the plunge and launched our Instagram page. Our plan with Instagram is to show what’s going on behind the scenes at AG HQ. Earlier today we showed off our Bontrager Ballista that we have been testing. Make sure to follow us to stay up to date on the latest happenings.

This week we took a slight break from following the tech of the Tour to bring you the latest from Felt’s press introduction of their new lineup. We took an in-depth look at their upcoming bikes, including their new IA10 that looks to make owning a superbike easier (and cheaper) than ever.

But that’s not to say we completely forgot about the Tour. We also took a look at the new Venge ViAS from Specialized and everything it has to offer.

New Flavors From GU

This week GU introduced three new flavor additions to its Energy Chews, Energy Gel, and Roctane Energy Gel product lines.  Salted Caramel Apple debuts as a new flavor for GU Energy Chews. Salted Caramel Apple Energy Chews provide 90 calories per packet and feature 450mg amino acids to reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage, 100mg of sodium to aid in hydration by maintaining water balance, and 20mg of caffeine to increase focus.

MapleBacon

Maple Bacon is the new offering in the line of GU Energy Gels, providing a savory option to the original energy gel category. Each packet yields 450mg of amino acids, 100 mg of sodium, 20mg of caffeine, and 100 calories from a combination of multiple carbohydrates to help maximize absorption and utilization, while diminishing stomach distress.

The new Vanilla Spice flavor boasts all of the benefits of Roctane Energy Gel, which is specifically formulated to satisfy athletes’ needs during high-intensity and long-duration activities. This new flavor includes 1425mg of amino acids, 125mg of sodium, 35mg of caffeine, and 100 calories of carbohydrates to keep you fueled and delay bonking by sparing your glycogen stores.

RoadID for Fitbit

Six months ago the AeroGeeks team became habitual FitBit users. We constantly have a workweek challenge going. Yet every time we have gone out for a workout, we cant help but notice that we now have to wear both a Fitbit and a RoadID. There had to be a better way. It seems RoadID had the same thought.

Recently, RoadID introduced a band for both the Fitbit Flex and Fitbit Charge. For the Flex, the team at RoadID engineered a precision crafted slide that fits right over your existing Fitbit and can handle five lines of text. They also added a safety cuff to ensure the snap clasp on your Flex band stays closed, protecting your Fitbit and Road ID from accidental loss.

The Fitbit Charge gets a seven-line RoadID slide that works with your existing Charge. Both are designed to give you and your loved ones piece of mind every time you step out the door for a workout.

We love this as it means one less piece of gear we can worry about forgetting AND helps us stay safe. RoadID can be expecting an AeroGeeks order soon!

The Mail Room

This week Zipp sent us samples of their new bags we highlighted last week – Three New Bags From Zipp – First Look. We have already mounted a Speed Box to our Specialized Shiv test bike and are looking forward to riding with it this week.

Zipp also sent us one of their new Transition 1 bags. During the photo shoot, we noticed just how many small details the team got right, including finding a place to store the shoulder straps when using it as a duffel bag. We cannot wait to use it on our way to transition.

AMO sent us a pair of their Transformer series sunglasses. We really love the green lenses and look forward to getting in some ride time with them.
