4-19-2015 WiR

No soapbox needed for this week’s WiR. We know many of you enjoy a good soliloquy now and then, but we try to reserve those for truly special occasions. Instead, we’d like to remind everyone about our Readers’ Rides album on Facebook. Spring is here, so now is the perfect time to get your bike cleaned up, take a couple shots, and send them on over. You never know, you might see your bike on our pages. You can check out our Readers’ Rides gallery at http://on.fb.me/12jEqE3. To have your bike featured in our album, just tweet us at @AeroGeeksFacebook message us, or email us at info@AeroGeeks.com.

This Week’s Posts

Monday – Trek Precision Fit – Review
Wednesday – SKLZ AccuRoller – Review
Thursday – Recon Jet – Update

Santini Photon Jersey

This week Santini showcased their Photon ¾ sleeve jersey. The Photon ¾ is built using Artico fabric, a textile capable of dissipating the heat produced during physical activity, promoting a beneficial cooling regulation of the body’s core temperature. In essence, the garment was specifically created to tackle this exact problem, providing a solution for all cyclists riding in warm weather environments. Also, thanks to the side inserts made of a hybrid carbon fibre fabric textile, the Photon ¾ is both antibacterial and odor-resistant.

What excites us about the Photon is the three-quarter length sleeves. Finishing just below the elbow, they are designed to improve aerodynamics and to maximize the performance of the athlete while on the bike. Equipped with anti-slip elastic fabric grippers around the sleeve cuffs and waist, the Photon ¾ is designed to maintain a comfortable and aerodynamic position while worn by the athlete in the most dynamic of racing situations.

Current Reviews

Rideye

We had our first ride with the Rideye this weekend, and while we didn’t test its automatic accident detection, we did shoot some great video. We already appreciate that the videos loop so we don’t have to remember to delete files between every ride.

Rudy Project Wing57

We actually finished our review of the Wing57 last week but didn’t make the cutoff to publish Friday. Stay tuned Monday for our in-depth thoughts!

Clean Energy Patch

We completed our first workout with the Clean Energy patch this week. While it was just one workout, two of our editors definitely noticed they had a touch more bounce in their step during their early morning rides. We have a few more patches to try before we render a final verdict.

ENVE SES Aero bar

When we first received the SES aero bar we had trouble getting comfortable with the pads setup very close together. This past week we got the pad extension kit, which allows you to widen the pads. Talk about a world of difference! Stay tuned for our final thoughts.

Smith Pivlock Arena

We really love these glasses. You don’t always see us provide such a definitive statement, but these glasses really work for us.
